Project Description:
The Saint Marys Road Widening at Topper Lane Intersection Improvement Project is located in the City of Lafayette. The project is funded by the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) and includes the following improvements:

  • Shifting the stop bar on Topper Lane to the south by 15 feet,
  • Shifting the alignment of Saint Marys Road to the south by approximately 5 feet,
  • Replacing approximately 300 linear feet of drainage ditch with a storm drain pipe along the southern side of Saint Marys Road in the area of intersection realignment,
  • Installing approximately 80 linear feet of concrete curbing along the south side of Saint Marys Road,
  • Replacing existing roadway surface and re-grading road to account for shift in centerline, and
  • Re-striping the roadways to be consistent with the new alignment.

    For this project, WRECO was responsible for project management and the preparation of the plans, specifications and estimate (PS&E). The project was constructed in 2011.
