Project Description:
WRECO is working with Caltrans District 4 on this project, which proposes High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV)/High Occupancy Toll (HOT) rehabilitation along Interstate 680 from, south to north, Calaveras Boulevard (State Route 237) to Grimmer Boulevard in the cities of Milpitas and Fremont, in Santa Clara and Alameda counties. The project scope includes shoulder widening, ramp metering installation, and re-pavement operation along Interstate 680. As part of the re-pavement operation, re-striping shall occur along this segment of Interstate 680 and continue to State Route 84. In addition, bridge widening/local street improvements are proposed. The project is constructed under three contracts.

WRECO is responsible for drainage design for Contract 3 of the project and hydromodification analysis and mitigation design for the project's impacts for all three contracts. This project was one of the first for Caltrans to address hydromodification concerns and comply with the Regional Water Quality Control Board's comments.
